Not far from Keystone Colorado in Summit County we find a stunning area known as Chihuahua Gulch. Rocky treeless mountain peaks surround you as we make our way through the lush valley between. Melting snow creates numerous streams, ponds and lakes that feed some of the most dense vegetation and flowers you’ll find in the high country.
After an exciting 4×4 Jeep ride of approximately 1 hr we will reach a trailhead from which we must hike to continue the journey. It’s tiresome to be sure, but well worth the effort. The trail breaks into flower filled meadows and ends at a beautiful alpine lake well above the treeline.
Don’t want to hike? We don’t have to. This destination can be incorporated with other local jeep trails (Red Cone Pass / Webster Pass) for a day of amazing views without the hiking.
Accessible only from: July until October.
