Travel photographers from around the world have celebrated the stunning scenery and rich culture of Myanmar (Burma).  It delivers photographic opportunities like no other place in South East Asia.

This ancient kingdom has managed to evade most of the modern world’s hectic growth.  While Burma is now much more open to visitors than in the past, it still holds onto the mystery and charm that permeates this ancient Buddhist culture.

Our tour will introduce you to a wide variety of destinations and photographic subjects.  From the faded Victorian architecture and breathtaking Shwedagon Pagoda of Yangon (Rangoon) to the ancient cities of historic Mandalay.  From the stunning temples of Bagan to the hill-tribes and fishing villages of Inle Lake.

We will travel this picturesque country by train, rickshaw, Mini-bus, horse/cart, river boat and on foot. As with all our tours we will combine both the iconic destinations with the less known so that you can immerse yourself in the local culture and experience Southeast Asia as it used to be.

What to Expect

Photographer’s Dream: Hands down this is my (Gene Tewksbury your instructor) personal favorite photography destination EVER! Literally on the entire planet there just is nothing I’ve seen that compares to the photo opportunities found in this amazing country.

  • Personal Photography TrainingPhotographers of all skill levels will get personal inspiring training daily throughout the tour and at every location.
  • Shwedagon Pagoda at DuskAn evening visit to Shwedagon Pagoda. Images abound as monks, locals and travelers alike take in the wonder of this ancient temple.
  • Traditional Rural LifeCapture the serenity that is part of traditional life amongst the Shan Plateau people.
  • Boat AdventuresWe will spend two days by boat exploring Lake Inle and its local markets, lakeside villages, floating gardens and temples.
  • Temples of BaganThe jewel of this journey is the breathtaking temples of Bagan. Hundreds of ancient Pagodas as far as the eye can reach.
  • Delicious Burmese Food!Burmese food is unlike most of its neighbors. While it shares an exotic flavor it uses many ingredients missing from other Asian countries (for instance potatoes)
  • Leisure TimeWhile we try and make sure you get to see as much as possible, we also know that travel can be exhausting. As such we do include "free time" to indulge in your own activities whether that means exploring on your own, napping or having some drinks.
Tour Itinerary
Each day is another adventure!
