Hold on tight! This jeep adventure is not for the faint of heart. However, if you have the guts to take this on this trail you will be rewarded with some of the most amazing views and tundra terrain in North America.
Black Bear Pass is a one way jeep trail starting from the Red Mountain area outside Silverton Colorado, overtop the 12,840 ft pass and then down the steepest scariest road you’ve ever seen. The adventure comes to a climax at Colorado’s tallest free falling waterfall Bridal Veil Falls. An amazing location for capturing images and video… and having lunch, hooray.
Highlights of this trip (beside being a world class 4×4 experience) include dozens of waterfalls, vast spreads of wildflowers, exceptional mountain landscapes and occasionally some wildlife as well. We can easily fill an entire day with just this one destination with plenty of stops for photography. On the other hand if you want to cover more terrain and keep the photos to a minimum we can parlay straight from Black Bear Pass to Imogene Pass for a double day of breathtaking views (and butt puckering cliffside trails).
If you think this might be too much adrenaline for you, check out Yankee Boy Basin for a more mild ride.
